This morning, 11am, No1Son - "please turn the tv on mum". Me - "no sorry, we have so many other cool things we can do rather than watch tv. What about all those boxes you’ve got, or the toys from the toy library".
5 mins later, No1Son = "I want to make a tv out of a box". (love that thinking - if she won’t give me what I want I’ll just make it!)
We literally spent the rest of the day playing with our cardboard tv. It became a stage for us to put on "shows" using all sorts of toys, play food (the Food Channel!), lots of sports channels (cars, motorbikes, horses, etc), the news, you name it. There were regular requests for more buttons, plugs, aerials, remotes, etc, etc. All made from cardboard. It came into the bathroom so he could continue "watching" the World Cup Football while he had a bath.
It was awesome. A whole day with no tv, lots of imaginative play, creative solutions to his desire for more gadgets and accessories.

Today, The Universe had a win, things were slightly balanced out.
Tiger Woods came fourth at Augusta. Phil Mickelson won - a man whose wife is battling breast cancer, a supportive husband, a father.
In my eyes that is just proof that good people do get what they deserve sometimes and that the Universe is sorting things out. Over the past 2 years there have been many occasions when the words "the Universe, she is a bitch" have passed my lips. Today, I humbly recognise that the Universe, she is a vengeful, wrong-righting rockstar.

It has been raining here for what seems like forever, but is actually probably 2 weeks. Woke this morning to sun and a breeze - perfect washing weather. So, of course I dashed about pulling sheets off beds and swapping towels. I have a clothes line and an airer full of washing outside, and it just started raining again!!
Oh well, I’ll just have to resort to what I usually do - hang everything on airers in the laundry and turn on the dehumidifier. What a shambles!
ok, I know this is a pretty lame post. But I’m trying to get my blogging mojo back and I figure the best thing to do is just say something, anything for now and hope that with practice the quality will come and the habit will form. That’s the theory anyway!
And so this isn’t the worlds’ most boring post - here is a photo of the latest train track No1Son and I built yesterday with Miss S right in the middle modelling a vest and pants I made for her recently. No1Son is currently obsessed with trains. Come to think of it - that is an idea for another post - how I’m translating his obsession with trains into learning opportunities….hmmm, I’ll work on that.

Apologies for the appearance of the blog - I just upgraded Wordpress and all my customisations are now gone. But I need to get to bed, so I’ll fix it all up in the next few days.
Thanks!

I am feeling lost for words at the moment - so many times I have sat at my computer specifically to write a blog post, but…. nothing…. I am feeling very flat and uninspired at the moment, I’m afraid.
I think part of the problem is I am suffering terribly with hayfever. I actually feel like I’ve got the flu - aches and pains, sore throat, cough, runny nose, headache - but I also have the itches and when I take an antihistamine I get a couple of hours’s relief.
So, apologies for being a bad blogger - I promise to return as soon as I find my words.

Well, it’s a very quiet Friday here and I have just been thinking back over my week wondering where did it go, what did I do, what did I learn?
- A sick toddler is a very high maintenance toddler
- I’m a terrible procrastinator, but I plan to work on that tomorrow
- Yoga is intense, hard work (after 90mins my body is screaming for mercy!)
- Working with a designer on my brand (logo, letterhead, etc) is very exciting. There is actually a very cool story behind this, which I plan to share with you in about 2 weeks time once I have the logo in my hot little hands!
- My jewellery making muse has desserted me this week. I have spent quite a bit of time sitting and staring at all my beautiful gemstones, but ..nothing….
- But thankfully, I had a successful shopping trip for supplies for my handbags.
- Online marketplaces are minefields! Trying to navigate the bad from the ok (I haven’t found one yet that I would say is really good), sorting through the messages from disgruntled existing customers to determine if the issues are ones that will affect me, working out how to get the most from them. Sheesh! I’m sure this is why I have felt uninspired this week - too much time spent worrying about business processes, policies, charges, etc.
- The options for marketing my business are endless and at times overwhelming. I seriously believe I could spend hours a day just getting the word out about Complete Fragments, but then I wouldn’t have time to make anything to actually sell!
Now it’s time to sit back, relax and surf around this wonderful internet. That reminds me, must get my blogroll set up! Who else spends their Friday nights like this? 10 years ago I would have thought I was terribly tragic, now I just really enjoy a quiet night in with time to read interesting websites.
Have a great weekend!

I have just signed up to take part in Cyber Fyber, which I’m really excited about!
From the web site:
CYBER FYBER is an exhibition of international fiber art scheduled for January 8th to 20th, 2009 at Gallery 80808/Vista Studios, in Columbia, South Carolina, USA. The brainchild of Susan Lenz, this exhibit will focus on the supportive, global community of fiber artists with whom Susan regularly shares new techniques, contemporary approaches to textiles, and finished work by Internet websites and blogs. The exhibition will include three primary areas: Fiber ATCs (Artist Trading Cards); fiber postcards; and the work of several invited artists. The exhibition will also include FIBER DAY and ATC trading day. From the beginning, Susan Lenz is documenting CYBER FYBER on a blog/journal.
This will be the first time I have exhibited in an art gallery since I won the student section of my hometown’s annual art prize. I won’t tell you how many years ago that was.
This is the card I am trading for:

Now, I just have to get to work making a trade to send! There are still ATCs and postcards available for trade, so if you are interested in taking part you should visit the relevant sites (link above).

I have to apologise to anyone who has been trying to access my blog, especially those trying to enter my One-World-One-Heart giveaway. The hosting company have been having problems and my site has been down intermittently over the weekend. I have been in contact with them, so hopefully everything will be OK now. Thanks for your patience!
